Never been to Vai.. impressive. We actually made a reservation for the wrong night and they got us in in 10 min. We had our waiter serve us whatever he thought was best and turned out to be the best decision we made. The carpaccio, pasta, pizza, salad, you name it… all was fantastic. Peter the owner came by multiple times and checked on us, got to love the personal touch. It’s about passion. VAI has it, don’t miss this spot.
Had a really nice experience at Vai in Naperville overall, and it’s definitely a place we’d come back to. Jiji, our waiter, provided excellent service—friendly, attentive, and made sure we were comfortable throughout our meal. We started with a couple of small plates: the peppered shrimp and arancini. Both were flavorful and well-prepared, great for sharing. My wife ordered the spicy chicken tortellini, which was rich, creamy, and had a nice kick—easily one of the highlights of the meal. We were there for a birthday lunch, and we ordered the tiramisu and chocolate dessert( on the house ) ,btw delicious. One small note—the tiramisu was delicious as always, but the portion size seems noticeably smaller compared to what we remember from last year. Not a dealbreaker, but something worth mentioning. Overall, great food, great service, and a lovely atmosphere. We’ll definitely be visiting again.
VAI Italian in Naperville is an absolute must-visit – from start to finish, our experience was exceptional. The food was absolutely divine, and every dish that hit the table impressed us. The wings were hands-down the best wings I’ve ever had at a restaurant: perfectly cooked, incredibly flavorful, and truly unforgettable. Our salad was fresh and well-balanced, and the pizza was phenomenal, with a delicious crust and toppings that felt both classic and elevated. As amazing as the food was, the most remarkable part of our visit was our server, Carson. Carson was friendly, attentive, and professional, with great menu knowledge and perfect timing throughout the meal. From thoughtful recommendations to making sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed, Carson made the entire experience feel special and personalized. Between the outstanding food, inviting atmosphere, and exceptional service, VAI Italian has absolutely earned a spot on our “go back soon” list. If you’re anywhere near Naperville and looking for a memorable meal, do yourself a favor and book a table at VAI Italian – and if you can, ask for Carson.
What a great spot! First thing you notice is the atmosphere, very warm and welcoming. Upscale, yet casual. Then the service kicks in and they make you feel like you're the most important guest! THEN the food comes and WOW!! You should scrap you lunch or dinner plans and go here ASAP!!
WOW. Vai’s. WHAT a place. WHAT an experience!!! Easily the best dining experience I’ve had in a LONG time. My dad and I went out to lunch at Vai’s for the first time yesterday and it was a heavenly experience from beginning to end. We walked in and were instantly greeted like family by the owners. Customer service was top notch. Our server Dimitrios was attentive, friendly, professional and offered excellent recommendations. The vibe of the restaurant was elevated, elegant, and inviting. The FOOD!!!! Oh my gosh, the food!!!! It was INSANE. The spicy black pepper shrimp was something you’d expect straight out of New Orleans. It’s what dreams are made of. The flavor was so intricately elevated, layered and just pure JOY. Happiness on a plate. An absolute MUST. Top tier dish of 2026, make no mistake about it. The four cheese ravioli with smoked bacon in a tomato cream sauce was ON point. Flavor town. And the bread that came with it was incredible. Toasted and buttered to perfection. For dessert, Dimitrios recommended Sandy’s white wine cake which was described to us as a fan favorite and I can see why. The cake was light, fluffy and delicate, topped with homemade whipped cream and gelato, drizzled with raspberry sauce and garnished with a basil leaf. Chefs kiss. The presentation with each dish was just as satisfying as the dish itself. Oh, we also ordered affogatos and those were absolutely delicious. Homemade gelato and freshly brewed espresso. What’s NOT to love? The owner came by to ask us how everything was towards the end of our lunch and I just love that. It’s rare when you get that and it’s SO nice when you do. It’s old school mentality at its finest and it makes your dining experience just that much more enjoyable. Top quality ingredients, top quality experience, top quality service. A time was HAD at Vai’s!!! We WILL be back!!!
