Let me start by saying that I haven’t had much Peruvian food in my lifetime.
But this restaurant has definitely opened up my eyes to wanting to try more.
I went here for dinner with my fiance (heads up, look at their store hours in advance)
I ordered the large chicharron sandwich while my fiance ordered the pollo ambulante (regular size)
To be honest, I think it’s worth doing a large portion for the few extra dollars if you plan on sharing (or you’re really hungry) because you pretty much get close to 2 servings
Overall, I liked the chicharron bc it had a nice crunch on the outside, but I wish it just had a little more tenderness on the inside.
My fiance & I both agreed that it would’ve been 10/10 if it had more / another sauce to it.
Speaking of which, you can get hot sauce served on the side. But just be aware that it can be hot for those not used to spice - but it’s worth it if you can handle it!
My fiance enjoyed her pollo sandwich as well. We both agreed that the fries could’ve been a little less salted, but it shows that they make them fresh.
There were only 2 people working the kitchen but the service was still amazing & it almost felt like we were getting a “homemade” meal
Honestly, I would definitely go back to try other flavors & foods on the menu.
It’s the perfect lunch spot to put on your list!

Delicious Peruvian food exploding with flavor. A hidden jem in an unassuming location on the South side of North Aurora Road just west of IL Rt 59. Cesar Chang and his staff are friendly and welcoming. Although I'd love to have a larger serving of meat on the sandwich, the portions were very satisfying! A "must go" for foodies!

Stopped in for a late lunch. I had the Chicharron sandwich with the salad on the side. The sandwich tasted great; very nice combo of flavors. The salad was a cold quinoa, white bean, and vegetables mix that was a great compliment. Plus it was way healthier than fries! Hot sauce and beef empanada was also delicious. I met the Chef/Owner and he was a nice dude!

Quinoa salad was refreshing and Adobo de Cerdo was a good sandwich. Very heavy on seasoning with most dishes. A little disappointed when asked for water, they did not have it? Ended up buying a drink instead. Overall, could make some improvements with food quality to make it a better restaurant.

It’s been awhile since I’ve been here but the food was always consistent. However, I did see that since covid they had to limit their menu. No problem they will make some of my favorites. Staff was nice and pleasant when I was there. Place was clean. They used to carry sweet plantains and aji de gallina (chicken stew in a sandwich). The aji de gallina was very savory. They still make chicharron, fried yuca, and peru poutine. Chicharron is braised then fried pig butt. It’s a very tasty sandwich and that parsley mayo just increases the flavor. Meat was very moist and tender. Fried yuca is a must get with your meal. I actually had peru poutine with adobo and that’s like a meal on its own. They do have plenty of parking. I’ll have to come back sometime. They are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
